Welcome to Explorer Care

Explorer Care supports AXIS International Academy Preschool through 6th grade families by providing before and after school care and care on scheduled AXIS teacher workdays.

Explorer Care is staffed by AXIS International Academy staff, on-site at the school. Registration is open to students who are currently enrolled at AXIS International Academy. Our childcare programs are licensed by the State of Colorado and comply with all standards and staff to student ratios.

Scheduling Deadlines

Booking before & after care can be done up to one hour before the start of care.

Cancellations must be made by the following times:

Before Care: by 7pm (12 hours in advance) the day before

After Care: by 8pm (19 hours in advance) the day before

Schools Out Day: 3 days (72 hours) in advance

Bookings that are not cancelled within the timeframe specified above will result in charges to the student's Kangarootime account for the corresponding bookings. When the only option available is to "mark absent," this means the cancellation window has closed. Please note, marking absent will not remove your booking or fees.

Before School Care

Students may be dropped off between 7:00 AM and 7:40 AM for before care at the east side cafeteria doors facing the playground. All parents/guardians must physically walk students to the building and sign their student in with the KT Connect app.

Before care takes place in the AXIS cafeteria. Students are welcome to read and do quiet activities together under teacher supervision. Breakfast is also available for students who have ordered beginning at 7:40 AM.

The cost of Before Care is $5/student/day. Families may register for before school care up to 4 months in advance. Same day scheduling is also available through the Kangarootime mobile app.

All Before Care sign up is on a first-come, first-served basis. Available spots are limited by the amount of staff to ensure a safe teacher to student ratio.

After School Care

After Care begins after school dismissal. Any students remaining at school after school pick up must be signed up for Explorer Care in order to receive after school care.

The cost of After Care is $10 for 3:00 - 4:30 PM, and $8 for 4:30 - 5:30 PM. Families may register for after school care up to 4 months in advance. Same day scheduling is also available through the Kangarootime mobile app.

Preschool and Prekindergarten students will participate in After Care in one of the Preschool classrooms, while Kindergarten - 6th Grade After Care will take place in the cafeteria. AXIS students will participate in enrichment activities, discovery stations, and outdoor playtime (as weather permits).

After 4:30 PM, all students will be combined into one group for Extended After Care and encouraged to play board games, draw quietly, or play outside as weather permits.
